Ethereal Vocals and Kundalini Awakening

Ethereal Kundalini Vocals — One of my favorite things to do when starting out a Kundalini Shakti Session with a group is chant. I wonder what energy of grace will come through when we surrender our voices completely to the energy of the divine. It’s about raw, unfiltered grace coming through the body, into the vocal cords and into the space.

When the Kundalini is Awakened, What Types of Sounds Does She Make?

When the Kundalini is awakened, she will access all of the sounds of the Universe, and you may be surprised at what decides to express through you. When my kundalini was first awakened, I was living in an ashram that was very active with kundalini kriyas. The Shakti, another name for the kundalini, would sing, chant, squeak, squeal, scream, talk in all kinds of different languages of the divine, make animal sounds and so much more. She was always aware of what was happening in each of the bodies she was active in, and the sounds blended into a beautiful cacophony of grace. Often described as a zoo, we all deeply loved and cherished those sounds.

When Does The Kundalini Become More Subtle in Her Expression?

As the years evolved, my kundalini expression became much more subtle. I have always been a musician, so the sounds of the kundalini intertwined with my music. I start my group Kundalini awakening sessions with my harmonium and one of the chants I learned from the early days at the ashram. Sometimes I let the sound of the harmonium linger past the words of the mantra and allow the Shakti to express herself freely. This has become a favorite moment of these gatherings for me, and I think for many in attendance also.

When one can allow their voice to express freely the sounds of the divine, we have found that she sings like a choir of angels through the bodies that are present.

So the cackling and loud animal sounds seem to have mellowed into more of a harmonic symphony from the higher realms.

I want to sing like the angels, like the divine, like the mastery of grace. When I open my mouth, I want the words of divinity to flow through. I have also found that singing these chants is just one of the vocal expressions of the divine kundalini.

What Does Ethereal Mean Spiritually?

According to the dictionary, part of the meaning of ethereal is “not earthly; heavenly; celestial”. According to my understanding, ethereal is the divine light of grace; the kind of light that makes someone glow from the state of peace.

Ethereal is that state of oneness, kindness and love that allows one to feel as if they are floating through the world rather than being connected to it.

When someone sings ethereally, the sounds can escape the body without the mind really noticing. When we enter a state of deep peace and union with divinity and allow the kundalini shakti to express herself freely, we aren’t consciously producing sounds, the sounds are evolving from within us ethereally.

From Kundalini Awakening to Ethereal Vocalizing

When my kundalini was awakened, my throat chakra was very stuck. My head would tilt in all directions, sometimes pressed against my back with my throat stretched wide open for what seemed like hours. I have always had a cough and a pain in my throat. I have had a lot to work out there. The kriyas were strong and persistent, opening, revealing, working to free my throat and ultimately my voice and my expressive creativity. I didn’t realize at that time that all of this was leading me towards what I am now freely expressing.

I have found that when I write songs in my current timeline, I want this grace to flow through me as it does when I am chanting freely in this divinity. It has happened spontaneously, opening slowly, revealing to me what is the essence of this grace. I have seen that the kundalini was able to rewire my thoughts about what spirituality means. If I allow the kundalini to express through me during a shaktipat program and while chanting the names of the divine and I am open to her grace in all aspects of my life here on this earth plane, she also sings and flows through me in all of my musical expressions.

What Are Ethereal Vocals?

From my understanding, ethereal vocals are the divine light of grace that flows through the body into the vocal cords and out through the mouth in a state of pure expression. So, rather than consciously producing a tone, we are experiencing the light of divinity expressing though us.

This doesn’t happen overnight. This is an understanding of a deeper energy awakening and becoming alive within our being, awakening to the deeper essence of our soul. When the kundalini is awakened, this happens naturally and spontaneously over time. We live with the kundalini and she awakens a deeper creative expression within us.

Can Music Awaken Kundalini?

This is a question that has been spinning around in the vortex of my consciousness. For years I have led Shaktipat Kundalini Awakening sessions both in person and online. It is a very direct transfer of grace that happens while in meditation. The Shakti works through me to awaken the energy of those who are present. This doesn’t happen every day in normal situations in my life. That energy works when the intention is clear for the grace to appear.

In these sessions, when we are in person, I chant, sing mantras and as mentioned earlier open up for the Shakti to spontaneously vocalize through me. This is an obvious activation of grace, and kundalini can absolutely be awakened this way. But what I am wondering about is this expression of grace through my original music and songs. They are words sprouting from my inner self, and it is the same grace that works in these ever-expanding Shaktipat meditations.

What Is The Final Stage of Kundalini Awakening?

As an expression of this Grace of Kundalini awakening, do we eventually settle into the world in which we are living with a higher mind of knowing that the whole world is alive in this space? Rather than being separated from the “lower consciousness energy” of the world, as many people describe it, do we actually recognize all of it as the pure consciousness of grace?

I don’t know about final stages, but an evolution in my own kundalini awakening journey is recognizing that we are all the same. We are all sparkling consciousness of divine energy and grace. And within that, each of our expressions are pure and light when we tap into that energy of grace. I have seen my own evolution of grace with the expression of my musical journey.

I wonder what will happen when I am experiencing the ethereal vocalizing of the Kundalini energy when I am on stage expressing my music; songs I have written about love, life experiences and emotions of this world, jazz standards and some of my favorite covers.

If the final stages of the kundalini awakening is stepping out of the cave and back into the world with a higher mind, can this expression be a grace for all to see?

I am trying this experiment to see if I can actualize this as a reality.

I would like to see the world becoming more real in its true essence, and when we have sharing coming from this awakened state, I believe it touches all of humanity.

Conclusion

I will water the seeds with Shakti’s grace. I will open my mouth and hope that She vocalizes through me. I will enliven myself in the ethereal realms and ask the Goddess Kundalini to awaken those who are engaging with my songs (if they are ready and willing). I will open to the grace of God’s Love in everything that I express, share and create.

Hopefully a choir of ethereal voices will join me when I am on stage playing, singing and engaging with divinity. It’s a dream. Will you join me?
